Surprises!

Doesn’t everyone LOVE Surprises?  I think I’ve created a monster :) I got into the habit of telling my daughter that mommy has a surprise for you.  I actually do;t say that to get her to do anything, just once in while I  like surprising her with something.  Well good old intentions have now became a habit and an expectation.  When I get home form work my daughter will say, mommy do you have a surprise for me?  I mean it could be a paper clip for all she cares, but I fell like the surprise is no longer a surprise!  So what I’m going to do is cut down on the surprises, meaning not do it do often..I still want to do it just because though.  My husband and I argue about this a lot, I usually buy my daughter something to make her happy, without her even asking, but I feel like a love seeing her happy since I don’t spend that much time with her!  There will still be surprises, but now they will actually have to be a surprise…it can’t be so often that it becomes a habit, like the one I’m trying to break out of!
