Take me to school!

Lately my daughter has been voicing her opinion a lot on why I don’t take her to school. She’s basically begging me to please, please take me to school…don’t go to work, and pick me up from school.  It actually breaks my heart!  I’m sure I mentioned  it before, but I leave for work probably a good hour plus, before everything else is up in the house.  Being that my daughter is in pre-k, she gets out at 1:30, so there’s no picking up here, unless I had a random day off here or there.  She told me that mommies an daddy’s both pick up their kids from school and take them ,not just daddy’s.  I really don’t have a solution here, except that I will try to work it out in my schedule to hopefully take her to school.  If I can work it our with my job and get her to school maybe once every two months, I’m hoping that will work.   That’s one of the things that actually pains me as a working parent, I don’t like not being around for drop offs and pick ups.  It’s more than just doing it, it’s the fact that I could ask her how her day was…instead of asking 6 hours later, which to her might as well feel like ages have passed!  I will do this, and I will take her to school more!  Wish me luck!
